Playbook: onboard a client

The master checklist from signed client to fully managed.

The end-to-end checklist. Sub-playbooks are linked where steps have depth. A step is done when verified in production, not before.

  1. Port the site(s). Port a site. Result: repo, Vercel project, tracked in Umami, approved in the console.
  2. Verify content editing. Open the site in the console, confirm pages load in the AI Editor, and migrate/create collections for anything the client will edit (events, team, testimonials). Name the fields properly.
  3. DNS cutover when the client approves. DNS cutover.
  4. Forms. With client approval, use Route forms to Backpack in the site’s Forms tab (Forms); after verifying a live submission, the Webflow project can be retired.
  5. Analytics. Confirm the site row on /analytics resolves and the dashboard link works. Umami tracking.
  6. Services as sold: inbox (iese), newsletters (Listmonk instance per large client, newsletter playbook), social (Postiz workspace).
  7. Money. Client set up in QuickBooks with recurring hosting/retainer invoice.
  8. Deliver. Send the client the console URL and the live site link. Finished work ends with the live link.
